KAZIA RAISES A$7.2 MILLION TO PROGRESS R&D PROGRAMS

Sydney, April 8, 2020 - Kazia Therapeutics Limited (ASX: KZA; NASDAQ: KZIA), an Australian oncology-focused biotechnology company, is pleased to announce the completion of a placement of KZA shares, primarily to sector-specialist institutional investors in Australia and internationally, at a price of A$0.40 per share. The placement will raise approximately A$7.2 million (exclusive of costs). to be issued today.

Institutional Placement

Under the terms of the Institutional Placement, approximately 18 million New Shares have been allocated to institutional, professional, and sophisticated investors at a price of A$0.40 per New Share, representing an 8.4% discount to the 15-day VWAP (A$0.437).

New Shares to be issued under the Institutional Placement will be issued without shareholder approval under the Company’s existing placement capacity under ASX Listing Rules 7.1, taking into account the Temporary Extra Placement Capacity Waiver announced by ASX on March 31, 2020. Settlement and issuance of shares is expected to occur on or around April 16, 2020, with quotation expected on April 17, 2020 in Australia. The New Shares will rank equally with the Company’s existing shares on issue. The Institutional Placement was not underwritten.

The proceeds of the placement will be used to further the Company’s ongoing clinical studies and to fund working capital.
